Halloween Weather: Maps Show Temperatures, Warnings in Different States

Halloween will see varying weather conditions across the country, with some places experiencing unseasonably warm temperatures, while others undergo cooler weather and possible thunderstorms.
A map from the National Weather Service shows that higher temperatures are due to hit southeastern states, with Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Georgia experiencing highs of around mid 80 to 90 F.
Other parts of the region will see temperatures in the late 70s and early 80s.
“Halloween will be reminiscent of summer in the East, with temperatures 20-30 degrees above normal,” the NWS said.
Several areas may mark some of their hottest Halloweens in history.
If temperatures hit the forecasted 80 F in Boston and 81 F in Philadelphia, these would be the second-hottest respective Halloweens. These cities see average temperatures of late 50s and early 60s around this time.
Washington, DC and New York City also face having their third and sixth hottest Halloweens respectively, if temperatures hit the forecasts of 80 and 75 degrees.
Meanwhile, northern parts of the country will experience cooler temperatures ranging from the upper 30s to low 50s.
Some parts of New Mexico, Colorado, Oklahoma and north Texas have freeze warnings in place for Thursday morning, with sub-freezing temperatures around the 20s expected.
“A cold front sweeping through the central U.S. will usher in more seasonable temperatures along with isolated severe thunderstorms in parts of the Midwest and Mississippi River Valley,” the NWS update said.
Meanwhile, the West Coast is forecast to experience a range of weather, with cooler temperatures in the Pacific Northwest and warmer temperatures in Southern California.
A precipitation map by the NWS shows that heavy rainfall is forecast to take place in areas across a diagonal band stretching from the north-eastern to the south.
Thunderstorms could take place from southern Indiana to Louisiana. Some localized areas in the south may see rainfall of up to as high as 1.25 inches, according to the NWS forecast.
The Pacific Northwest is also due to see rainfall, particularly parts of Oregon and Washington. Some areas in this region could also see mountain snow.
The NWS advises people to check the weather forecast in their area before heading out on Halloween.
